Inauguration Day

Looks can be deceiving

Maybe we all need healing

Until the tribunal verdict is final,

This is our new beginning.

A new era is upon us 

Citizens are worried and lost

We need a symbol of hope, to renew our shattered trust.

We have suffered 8 years. Can it actually go from worse to worst?

Let’s take a moment and give the benefit of the doubt

What exactly is the reason, what’s this all about

Maybe he can do the work, maybe it’s not just for clout

But what about our safety? What about the touts?

We clamored for change, for things to be done the right way

Not get carried away by sentiments and let things go astray

We want the right man for the job, even if the verdict will delay

At the end of the day, it’s all about politics and who has the better play.
